Saturday Classroom/Court Sessions
SBL powered by IgradeEdu brings an innovative approach to student athletes both in the classroom and on the basketball court. We offer a competitive math curriculum to help improve each student athlete’s test scores. We use the SBL program to identify and improve candidates who can compete in the class and in the sporting arena. We serve as the bridge between Independent/Private schools and inner city student athletes, thus enriching the institution and the student. Student athletes will spend two hours per Saturday in the program. Forty-five minutes in the classroom and one hour on the basketball court. The first few weeks will focus on training and development. The student athletes will then be drafted onto competitive teams which they will compete with both on the court and in the classroom.
POWER Program Nutrition/Wellness
Because all the training in the world is worthless without proper nutrition, SBL student athletes will be provided with resources to improve nutrition, physical fitness, and sports psychology. Our certified staff, along with qualified guest speakers, will encourage positive behavioral changes at home, on the court, and in the classroom.
IgradeEdu Online Competitive Learning
The objective of IgradeEdu is to reconfigure the individual mindset to think more in team concepts through competitive online learning. Moreover, our goal is to teach our student athletes to compete as an individual within the framework of a team. We seek to provide coaching; challenge and fun in learning math; and help students stay ahead of their school curriculum. Each team will have one hour per weeknight of online learning and competition per week. The points that the teams earn during the weeknight competition will be added to their overall score on Saturdays.
Social Awareness Community Service
Each year we teach our student athletes to take ownership of their role in our community. We ask that they pay forward what they have been blessed with. This year the student athletes will be collecting gently used warm outerwear and winter items to give to those in need . Saturday, December 19th we will be feeding warm meals and handing out the warm clothing that we've collected. We also will be giving out small gifts to those of our community who are in need. Please click on this link to see how you can help make this day a successful life lesson and habit for our future leaders.
